Mid-competition at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, the show hit pause to roll a tribute montage celebrating Catherine’s iconic career ... with a big nod to her classic comedy “Best in Show” -- about a fictional dog show similar to the Westminster event -- which had the crowd clapping it up hard.
As fans know, the 2000 mockumentary was all about competitive dog shows, with Catherine starring alongside her longtime partner-in-comedy, Eugene Levy ... the two playing wildly devoted owners to their Norwich terrier, Winky, who somehow beats the odds and wins it all.

After Melinda French Gates issued a public plea for her ex-husband Bill Gates to address his mentions in the Epstein Files ... Bill is doing just that in a new -- at times, uncomfortable -- interview.
The infamous files show Epstein appeared to send emails to himself claiming Bill got a sexually transmitted disease and referencing "consequences of sex with russian girls" ... and claiming Bill asked Epstein to give him antibiotics to secretly slip Melinda to prevent her from realizing she'd allegedly caught anything.
In an interview with 9 News Australia, Bill said ... "Apparently, Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent, the email is false. I don't know what his thinking was there."

In a new interview Wednesday, Nanos told 'TODAY' ... "We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here, she's present, she's alive, and we want to save her."
As you know ... detectives suspect Savannah's 84-year-old mom Nancy was taken from her Arizona home in the middle of the night against her will.
While some details have come out, none of them have led to cracking the case or even identifying any persons of interest in the Tucson-area case.
8:59 AM PT -- A rep for Lil Jon tells TMZ ... "The family is asking for privacy at this time. We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you"

If he seems relaxed carrying out such a huge honor, it might be because he's had some experience. The rapper also did the honors at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Another scary twist in the disappearance of "TODAY" host Savannah Guthrie's kidnapped mother ... TMZ has received an alleged ransom note demanding payment for the release of Nancy Guthrie.
The note, which was sent to us Tuesday morning, demands a specific substantial amount of Bitcoin ... the amount is in the millions, and the note demands the cryptocurrency be sent to a specific Bitcoin address.
Alisia Adamson -- who is representing both sprinters -- entered the plea through docs filed in court on Monday. Richardson was arrested on one charge of dangerous excessive speeding ... and cited for several driving violations.
Coleman was arrested for drug paraphernalia and resisting (without violence) during the traffic stop -- both of which are misdemeanors.
Jeffrey Epstein's suicide in his jail cell was a gruesome end to his long campaign of alleged sexual abuse of underage females ... and now we're getting an up-close look at the aftermath of his lurid death.
The Department of Justice recently released a slew of photos as part of the latest Epstein Files document dump, which show the convicted pedophile lying dead inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan on August 10, 2019. The images capture a shirtless Epstein on a stretcher surrounded by paramedics trying to revive him, to no avail.
The pics also show Epstein's messy jail cell with bed sheets and clothing strewn everywhere -- and the piece of fabric used to kill himself dangling from his bed frame.

Along with a few "who?" jokes, McRae tells the owl she's stoked to catch the Red, White and Blue in action ... which has ruffled some feathers.
Tensions were boiling over in Brazil ... 'cause shoppers straight-up lost it while brawling over instant noodles on sale -- and it was all caught on camera.
Peep the chaos ... a supermarket in Assu, Brazil, turned into a full-on free-for-all as customers shoved, scrambled, and climbed over each other to grab dirt-cheap noodle packs -- which were gone in literally 3 minutes.
Look, it was absolute grocery-store madness Tuesday ... but when noodles are selling for 0.01 in Brazilian Real (about two-thousandth of 1 cent in U.S. money), orderly conduct goes right out the checkout line.
